Athletics, also known as track and field, is a collection of competitive sporting events involving running, jumping, throwing, and walking. It is one of the oldest forms of organized sports, dating back to ancient Olympic Games. The discipline includes sprints, middle- and long-distance running, hurdles, relays, as well as field events like long jump, high jump, shot put, discus, and javelin. Athletics tests athletes' speed, strength, agility, and endurance, with competitions held at various levels, from school meets to global championships like the Olympics and World Athletics Championships.
